[desktop] compiz の Desktop Screenlets

gDesklets みたいなアプレット。公式サイト、日本語対応してほしいなぁ、と思いつつ。

実は俺が欲しいのは、「日付」「曜日」「時刻」の３つがそろって tiny な時計。以前ちょろっと入れてみたときは、思ったようなものがなくて、結局駆逐してしまった。その後、いろんなパーツが増えたりしてたら、おおっ！と思うのがあるかなぁ？　暇があったら、試してみたい。

[apt-get] パッケージのアップグレード禁止

バージョンアップすると都合の悪いパッケージがあるときは
具体的に /etc/apt/preferences にパッケージを指定して
バージョンアップを抑止することができる

[firefox] mms のリンクを kmplayer で開かせるまで

Firefox で誤って mms に対してダウンロードを実行しないという指定をしてしまったが、
それを修正するＧＵＩや拡張は見付からなかった（存在しない）。
そこでしかたなく、文字列「mms」含む関連ファイルを検索。

/home/(username)/.mozilla/firefox/(profname)/prefs.js

から

user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.mms", false);

を

user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.mms", true);

に変更。


そこから先の開くソフトは GNOME に依存していた。

gconf-editor

の

desktop > gnome > url-handlers

の中の mms のエントリーを編集した。

[firefox] 埋め込み WMV を mplayer plug-in で見る

1) 簡単な方法

sudo apt-get remove totem-mozilla
ただしこれでは ubuntu-desktop が依存関係で削除されてしまう

2) 少し面倒な方法

cd /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins
sudo mkdir oldtotemplugins
sudo mv libtotem* ./oldtotemplugins
sudo apt-get install mozilla-mplayer

*) stage6 対応

cd /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins
sudo ln -s ../../mozilla/plugins/mplayerplug-in-dvx.* .

# う〜ん、分からんものは分からん。

[grub] grub の背景を設定する

Grubの背景を設定する

sudo aptitude install grub-splashimages

/boot/grub/splashimages/ 配下にいくつか背景画像が入る

cd /boot/grub　…フォルダ移動

sudo ln -s splashimages/fiesta.xpm.gz splash.xpm.gz
sudo ln -s splashimages/bike_gua.xpm.gz splash.xpm.gz　などなど

sudo update-grub　…最後にアップデート

Kubuntu 用（kubuntu-grub-splashimages）もあるらしい

(元に戻すには)

・/boot/grub/menu.listの splashimage の行をコメントアウト
・/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz を削除して sudo update-grub
